By far the most popular and economical of blister pack variants is the heat seal blister to card method. This requires only three stages of operation – loading of blister with product, placement of card and heat sealing to bond the blister and card at the contact point. The quality and compatibility of the blister and card are paramount to ensure good adhesion and resultant fast production rates.
‘Trapped’ blister packs utilise a folding card, with an aperture through which the blistered product can protrude, the card is then heat sealed to itself resulting in a neater and more environmentally friendly pack, where the board and blister can be recycled separately.
